About the OneTouch UltraSoft Diabetic Lancets
OneTouch UltraSoft Lancets are used to obtain blood samples so you can test your blood glucose levels when monitoring and managing your diabetes. They have an ultra-thin design (28-gauge needle) for less painful testing. The lancets are gentle on the fingers, allowing for a less painful stick when used with the OneTouch Penlet Plus Adjustable Blood Sampler. Your OneTouch UltraSoft Lancets are compatible with the OneTouch Lancing Device, OneTouch UltraSoft Adjustable Blood Sampler and the OneTouch Penlet Plus Adjustable Blood Sampler. They are available in packages of 100 sterile lancets.
How to Use?
Do not use these lancets if the protective disk has been damaged or removed.
To use these lancets, make sure to wash your hands with soap and warm water first. This reduces your risk of spreading infection or disease while sampling. Remember to rinse your hands and dry them thoroughly before sampling. These lancets are intended for single use only and should never be shared with anyone, including family members.
First, load your lancet into the lancing device and twist off the protective cap. Next, choose a spot on the side of your finger, remembering to use a different finger each time you take a blood sample.
After you have applied your sample to the test strip and read your results on your blood glucose meter, eject the used lancet from the lancing device and snap-on the safety cap before you throw it away. Throw away the used lancet carefully so that it can not harm others.
OneTouch ultra soft lancing device is compatible with these lancets.
Guidelines for Use:
- To prevent making the frequently used portion of your finger sore, place the lancet’s tip covering on the side of your fingertip.
- To release the lancet, push the button.
Information on Safety:
- Before to use, carefully read the instruction manual or leaflet.
- Store away from sunlight, in a dry, cold environment.
- Keep out of children’s reach.
Quick Advice:
- Never use a lancet that has already been used by someone else.
- Each lancet is meant to be used just once.
Can I Use a OneTouch UltraSoft Lancet Again?
No. Lancets should only be used once. A OneTouch UltraSoft lancet should always be thrown away after each usage. To help prevent infection, increase comfort, and enhance performance, use a fresh, sterile lancet each time you perform a test.
How Frequently Should Blood Glucose Levels Be Checked?
If you have type 1 diabetes, your blood glucose levels may need to be checked more than once a day (pre- and post-meals, before and after exercise), or as your doctor may instruct. Contrarily, if you have type 2 diabetes, the frequency of checking your blood sugar levels may depend on how severe your condition is and may range from many times per day to once per day to three times per week. In order to determine how frequently you should test your blood glucose, it is essential to speak with your doctor.
